Election Day stress

Election Day, Nov. 3, 2020, is swiftly approaching. The American Psychological Association notes that elections, and particularly the 2020 election, are a source of stress for many Americans. (https://www.apa.org/news/press/releases/2020/10/election-stress)

Students may disclose their stress or anxiety related to the election in virtual class sessions or papers or in passing. We want to remind you that LLCC offers free, short-term, confidential counseling for students that are currently enrolled in classes. You may refer a student to our service information at:  www.llcc.edu/mental-health-and-wellness.

If you encounter a student in crisis, then you as the staff or faculty member, may call the counselor line 786-9660; a counselor will then answer and reach out to the student (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; if after 5 p.m. or the weekend, the line rolls over to the LLCC Police Department).
