Greetings from LLCC Student Success! We hope that you are off to a great fall semester. We wanted to take this opportunity to remind you that if you have concerns about a student or find them in crisis, we encourage you to call the counselor line: 217-786-9660. This number is one that you (not to be given to students) can call Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. if you need to refer a student for crisis intervention or counseling. When you call, a counselor on the main campus will answer and then you can either have the student speak to the counselor via phone, or the counselor can come to the student’s location* (*may not be available during COVID). If it is after 5 p.m., or on the weekend, the counselor line will connect you to LLCC Police (217-786-2222).

We offer short-term, solution-focused, confidential counseling services to currently enrolled students, free of charge. If you have concerns about a student, but they are not in immediate crisis, you may call 217-786-2224 and ask to speak to one of the counselors. We can then explain how we can reach out to the student of concern. Please note this line is for immediate crisis only and not for issues related to classroom management or behavior; if that is the concern, please contact Leslie Johnson, assistant vice president, student success: 217-786-2848.
