September is the time that community agencies, colleges and universities, and hotlines provide a concerted effort to increase awareness about suicide and suicide prevention. Below are two great resources to learn more:

LLCC counselors offer short-term, crisis intervention and confidential counseling services to currently enrolled students, free of charge. If you have a student in immediate crisis, please call our counselor line at 217-786-9660 (for faculty and staff use only) during the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If it is after 5 p.m. or the weekend, please call LLCC Police at 217-786-2222. Please note the counselor line is for immediate crisis only and not for issues related to classroom management or behavior; if that is the concern, please contact Leslie Johnson, AVP of Student Success.
Thank you for all that you do for LLCC students!
