The GLSEN Day of Silence is a national student-led demonstration where LGBTQ students and allies  all around the country — and the world — take a vow of silence to protest the harmful effects of harassment and discrimination of LGBTQ people in schools. This year due to the quarantine, we are going virtual! We will be combining the LLCC Gay-Straight Alliance’s yearly Speak Out event with the Day of Silence to bring awareness about LGBTQ+ discrimination in schools and to “break the silence.” LGBTQ+ students and allies are welcome to join in on the silence by registering. Posts will be made to GSA Facebook and Instagram pages throughout the day starting at 10 a.m. (Instagram: GSA_LLCC Facebook: LLCC GSA).
