Please encourage students to enter this year’s Paul Simon Essay Contest. An essay of 500 words or less on the topic “How my community college changed my life” gets students entered to win cash and other cool prizes, courtesy of the LLCC Foundation and Bookstore. The local winner will be entered in the statewide competition for the chance to win a $500 scholarship. Students can schedule appointments in the LLCC Writing Center to get help with their essays. Submissions are due by 3 p.m. on March 15. See the 2019 Paul Simon Student Essay Contest flyer or contact the Writing Center for more information.
