Dr. Carmen Allen, interim dean of business and computer technologies, recently presented at the Northern Illinois Regional P-20 Network fall symposium. She was part of the panel discussion, “P-20 Considerations in Designing and Implementing Competency-Based Education.” Insights were shared about LLCC’s development of the CBE Cyber-Security certificate. Specific issues included the benefits to students, the benefits to the community, our institutional commitment and the inclusion of essential stakeholders for success. The goal of the Illinois P-20 Council is to increase the proportion of adults in Illinois with high quality degrees and credentials to 60 percent by 2025.
