LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would like to express our appreciation to those who assisted with the campus tours for the 130 New Berlin Middle School seventh and eighth grade students, their teachers and aides who visited campus on Tuesday, Sept. 11. During the visit, the students were given the opportunity to learn about several of the classes and programs at LLCC from participating staff and faculty.
The students started their visit with a brief welcome and a presentation about coding. The students then toured the Workforce Careers Center and learned about emerging technologies, auto technology, agriculture, commercial electrical maintenance and aviation. They also visited labs for emergency medical services, surgical technology, nursing and criminal justice.
Faculty and staff who provided information, set up labs and demonstrations, and provided talking points to the students included: Nick Ferreira, Julie Rourke, Dr. Carmen Allen, Dave Pietrzak, Jim Gain, Holly Bauman, Damon Tanke, Brian Earley, Randy Rue, Janice Badgett, Cassandra Clifton and Chris Tople.
A few of the highlights from the event included students trying out surgical technology attire, enjoying popcorn provided by emerging technologies, and helping solve a murder mystery in the crime scene building!
