Many thanks to those who assisted with seventh grade tours!

Dr. Carmen Allen presenting on coding.LLCC Public Relations and Marketing would like to thank everyone who assisted with the campus tours for the 392 Chatham-Glenwood seventh graders, their teachers and parent volunteers who visited campus on Tuesday, May 1 and Thursday, May 3. During the visit, the students were given the opportunity to learn about several of the classes and programs at LLCC from participating staff and faculty.

Faculty and staff providing information to the students included Nick Ferreira, Nancy Sweet, Julie Rourke, Dave Green, Carmen Allen, Jeff Owens, Jim Gaines, Janice Lovekamp, Tom Spears, Bill Harmon, Laurie Rhodes, Don Kallembach and Brian Earley.

The students started their visit with a brief welcome, then toured the Workforce Careers Center, Child Development Center and labs for emergency services, surgical technology, occupational therapy assistant, agriculture, culinary, commercial electrical maintenance, auto body, automotive technology and emerging technologies. They also learned about aviation and coding.

A few of the highlights from the event were students receiving sunglasses from the agriculture program, sporting surgical technology attire and enjoying popcorn provided by emerging technologies and special treats from baking and pastry created on an anti-griddle.
