The LLCC Foundation Board of Directors elected new officers, welcomed four new members, and recognized the retiring board chair and members at a recent meeting.
Jason Barth of Springfield was installed as board chair for 2016. Ken Elmore of Waggoner was elected vice chair and Tim Schroeder of Springfield was elected treasurer.
New members of the board: Gregory Marantz, Erica Riplinger, Lynne Sheaff and Neil Williamson
Gregory Marantz of Springfield is assistant vice president at Bank of Springfield. A graduate of Springfield public schools, Greg is also an LLCC alum and played baseball while attending the college. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a master’s degree from St. Louis University.
Erica Riplinger of Springfield is an attorney and partner with Brown, Hay and Stephens, LLP, concentrating her practice in the area of civil litigation and family law. She is a graduate of Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Southern Illinois University School of Law.
Lynne Sheaff of Jacksonville is a retired nurse practitioner. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Kalamazoo College, as well as a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Lynne’s nursing career was spent primarily in public health working and volunteering at clinics in the Midwest and even Haiti. She also taught at the UIC College of Nursing.
Neil Williamson of Springfield is the retired Sangamon County Sheriff, a position he held for 20 years until his retirement in December 2014. He is a graduate of Williamsville High School and was a member of LLCC’s first graduating class. Neil then earned a bachelor’s degree from Western Illinois University and joined the Springfield Police Department in 1973 as a patrolman, helping launch the Crime Stoppers Program in 1983 before moving to the Sheriff’s office.
The LLCC Foundation Board also recognized and offered sincere thanks to outgoing board chair Pam McClelland of Springfield and retiring members Rachel Broughton of Pawnee, Chuck Davis and Lee Milner of Springfield, and Ryan Murphy of Chatham for their service to the Foundation and support of LLCC students.
