A state-of-the-art, indoor ambulance simulator that will allow emergency medical services (EMS) students to practice life-saving skills in a realistic environment was presented today, April 15, to the Lincoln Land Community College Foundation by the HSHS St. John’s Foundation.
“We are excited for this partnership between HSHS St. John’s Hospital and Lincoln Land Community College,” said Charles L. Lucore, M.D., M.B.A., president and CEO of HSHS St. John’s Hospital. “We’re looking forward to the educational opportunities this collaboration will allow our future colleagues in health care.”
The simulator, recently installed in the LLCC EMS classroom, will be used in teaching scenarios from patient contact through hospital transport. Students will practice treating patients in a realistic working environment that is very similar to what they will see in their future professions.
