The LLCC Quiz Bowl team competed in the National Academic Quiz Tournaments community college championship on Feb. 27-28 in Atlanta, Ga. This was the fourth straight year that the LLCC team qualified for the national tourney.

The LLCC Loggers won four matches and finished 20th in the competition. Jake Montgomery of Athens placed 18th individually out of 121 participants.

Other members of the LLCC team are Allison Penrod of Athens (captain) and Jacob Webb of Virden (lieutenant captain) along with Ashley Fields, Jefferson Gentry, Nick Shelton and Jarely Ventura of Springfield; David Western of Rochester; Holden Smith of Edinburg and Tim Schaeffer of Taylorville.

The team is coached by LLCC professor Eve Fischberg.
