Compliance and Prevention Office information and resources for a welcoming environment

LLCC is committed to providing a welcoming environment for all members of our campus community. As we begin a new academic year, the Office of Compliance and Prevention encourages all staff and faculty to review the following information and resources:

When meeting new people and working with new students,  allow individuals the opportunity to self-identify their name and pronouns. Using gender neutral pronouns (they, them, their) or someone’s chosen name in place of assigning pronouns based on your assumptions can prevent harmful situations of misgendering or “outing” a student. Remember that a student’s chosen name is used on WebAdvisor class rosters, and that it can be found within the “Pref Name” field in NAE in Colleague. LLCC respects the identities of all individuals. As such, all staff and faculty are encouraged to familiarize themselves with LLCC’s nondiscrimination policy (1.6) and sexual harassment, other harassment, and discrimination policy (1.7). Contact Shelby Bedford, compliance and prevention coordinator, at shelby.bedford@llcc.edu for questions or complaints of discrimination/harassment, or to learn more.

Student Services open extended hours

LLCC Admission, Records and Registration, Financial Aid, Placement and Testing and Student Success (formerly Advising, Counseling and Career Services) will be open extended hours to assist students with fall enrollment on these dates/times:

  • Monday-Thursday, Aug. 12-15, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 16, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Saturday, Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Monday-Thursday, Aug. 19-22, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Friday, Aug. 23, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
