Get a team together and participate in the LLCC LEAGUE Committee’s Penny Wars! Penny Wars is a fun competition to see who can collect the most pennies and raise funds for LLCC Foundation’s Pay It Forward Fund, which provides assistance to students with emergency needs. • Pick up an empty Penny Wars container in the Foundation, Menard Hall, room 1214.
• Decorate your container anyway you want – or use this year’s LEAGUE TV Game Show theme as inspiration.
• Start collecting pennies in your department or area and place them in your container.
• Sabotage your opponents by placing silver coins or paper money in their containers.
• Bring your decorated containers to the L.E.A.G.U.E. luncheon on Tuesday, March 24 by 11:30 a.m. in the Student Union where people will vote for their favorite and more money can be placed in the jars.

Take the LEAGUE Friendly Feud survey; only 100 responses accepted

One hundred faculty and staff members were asked to name an Game-Show-logo-color-smallexcuse a student might give when missing an assignment. Participate in the LEAGUE’s Friendly Feud survey to find out the No. 1 reason. The results of the survey will be revealed during the Friendly Feud game at the LEAGUE luncheon on Tuesday, March 24 in the Student Union. Take the survey now (click on the game show graphic). Only 100 responses will be accepted.

Foundation Secures Donations In Support of Our Students

The Lincoln Land Community College Foundation applauds your efforts in helping our students fulfill their educational goals!

_G1C1552.CR2Gifts to the annual staff and faculty LEAGUE campaign are still being received.  To date, the Foundation has received $55,488 in pledges from 175 staff and faculty members!  This money benefits students like Peggy, who after an 18-year hiatus, hesitantly returned to college, but with clear goals in mind including being the first in her family to receive a degree and to open her own catering business someday. Thanks to your generous donations, Peggy was the recipient of the Lincoln Land Foundation First Generation Student Scholarship, which has helped her pay tuition.

LEAGUE News

Today is the last day to make your payroll deduction pledge to the LEAGUE campaign and be entered  into the drawing for $150.  We have now surpassed last year’s total of $52,000 in donations.

Deadline Reminders

 Friday, April 25 is the last date for all major purchases

Major purchases for equipment, material, or supplies should be placed.

An on-line requisition must be done, approved by corresponding Budget Manager(s), with correct account number(s), and forwarded to the Purchasing Department.

The 2014 edition of the LLCC Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign will soon be coming to a close and we invite you to join the team in support of our students!

Thanks to all our generous faculty and staff for their donations of more than $51,000 to the 2014 LEAGUE campaign…and for all you do every day on behalf of our students.  There’s still time to join the LEAGUE and help us reach our goal of $52,000!

If you still wish to give, stop by the Foundation, level one Menard Hall, or give us a call at 6-2785.  As an incentive, you may be eligible for $150 cash gift, donated by the President and Cabinet, by selecting payroll deduction.  How easy is that?

Funds from this campaign go directly to support LLCC students through scholarships, grants and more.  As a donor, you choose where the money goes.  The LLCC Foundation realizes you have choices in what charities you choose to support and given the ever increasing demands on individual and family budgets, please know how grateful we are that you’ve chosen the students of LLCC.

As a small token of thanks, the L.E.A.G.U.E campaign offers some gifts at various giving levels.  (based on 24 pay periods per year)

  • $10 per pay – Coleman cooler (or annual gift of $240)

LEAGUE Winners Announced

Penny Wars: Congratulations to the 2014 LEAGUE Penny Wars Champions, LLCC-Jacksonville.  A total of $423.29 was raised for the LLCC Foundation’s Pay It Forward Fund which helps students who need emergency assistance.  The results for each department who participated are attached here.

Raffle Winners: Congratulations also goes to the winner of the Kindle Fire HD and $25 Amazon gift card – Mark Roehrs, Professor of History in the Social Sciences department. The winner of the 50/50 cash drawing is Gary Armour, Laboratory Safety Coordinator, with the Mathematics and Sciences department.  He won $145.75.

There is still time to make your pledge to this year’s LEAGUE campaign.  Stop by the Foundation office to complete your form and receive your thank you gifts!  So far staff and faculty have donated $46,274 to the campaign.
