What is LEAGUE?
LEAGUE is an acronym for Leaders Establishing Annual Gifts Underwriting Education and is the annual opportunity for LLCC faculty and staff to make charitable donations back to the college. Funds raised go directly to support LLCC students through scholarships, grants and other Foundation funds. No LEAGUE dollars are used for operating expenses for the LLCC Foundation.
Nearly half of all LLCC faculty and staff donate to the LLCC Foundation. Besides the great work you do every day, LLCC faculty and staff truly support their own. Join us for the kickoff celebration of this year’s LEAGUE campaign on Professional Development Day, Tuesday, March 28 at 11:30 am in the Student Union.
Why give?
Most people say a personal connection is the main reason for charitable giving and because they feel it’s the right thing to do. And what better investment than our students? You’re truly making their lives better with the gift of education.

LEAGUE Grant Applications Available
Now through January 31, the LLCC Foundation is accepting applications for LEAGUE grants. Faculty and staff make these grants possible through their generous giving to the annual faculty and staff campaign each spring known as LEAGUE.
The Foundation will award approximately $10,000 as a direct result of the success of the annual faculty and staff campaign. Grant guidelines, application and budget worksheet are available here, or may be obtained at: www.llccfoundation.org/educational-support.
Donations to the LEAGUE campaign support LLCC students through the LEAGUE grant program, scholarships, and other funds, including the “Pay It Forward” fund which helps students with emergent needs. Each year approximately 40-percent of LLCC faculty and staff support the Foundation through this campaign. Our thanks to our generous LLCC faculty and staff for contributing nearly $54,000 to the 2016 LEAGUE campaign!
Again, the application deadline is Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 5 p.m. Awards will be announced at the LEAGUE kickoff on March 28. Please contact the Foundation at 6-2785 for more information.
LEAGUE Committee Seeking New Members
The Foundation is recruiting new members for the LEAGUE Committee (the annual faculty and staff giving campaign) and we would love to have you serve! We have a great group that helps choose the theme and plan the activities for the LEAGUE Campaign each year. The committee meets once a month beginning in October thru March and serves for at least two years. We ask the following of committee members:
- Attend the one-hour monthly committee meetings (October – March). We will try to accommodate your schedule.
- Participate by serving on a sub-committee that may meet once or twice
- Help the day of the kickoff luncheon which is Tuesday, March 28, 2017 next year
- Make a contribution to the LEAGUE Campaign. The amount is entirely up to the person. It can be $1, $1 per pay or more!
If you are interested, please contact Barb Eades by Friday, September 16 at 6-2255 for further details.
