Participants sitting at tables paintingAttendees holding up their finished paintingsParticipants enjoying Twyford's BBQ in Great Hall. The IV Leaguers student nursing club held a fundraiser in the Nursing Education Center this past Friday evening. The Nursing Skills Lab was converted to an art studio for the evening! Guests feasted on a Twyford’s BBQ dinner in the Great Hall. After dinner, they entered the skills lab for the painting experience. Guests were led through a guided painting and self-care wellness lesson. The experience included relaxed breathing, guided imagery, self-hug and group laughing exercises that encouraged guests to include their emotions within the painting by using various colors, brush strokes and power word statements.

Leading up to the event, the student club members reached out to several local area businesses to seek donations of services and products to offer as a silent auction items. In the end the club received donations from 17 locally owned businesses to create a total of 20 baskets for silent auction.

The club wishes to thank and acknowledge HSHS: Hospital Sisters Hospital Systems and Memorial Health Systems for their generous support of the catering from Twyford’s BBQ as well as the following sponsors for their generous support of the silent auction: Balance Yoga, Inner Health Spa, TC Nail Salon, BJ Grand Salon, Pink & White Nails, Heart in Hand Massage Therapy, Sweet Caroline, Moxie Massage, Smoothie King, Sports Clips, Uppercuts Barber Shop, Springfield Wellness Center, YMCA, Massage Luxe, Clark and Co. Beauty Lab and Meraki.

And finally, a great big thank you to the ADN faculty and IV Leaguer Club advisors for the support and donations contributed to the great big effort!
