Transportation and Industrial Expo July 16

If you know anyone interested in a hands-on career, encourage them to attend LLCC’s Transportation and Industrial Expo on Tuesday, July 16 from 6-8 p.m.! Prospective students are invited to learn about the many LLCC degree and certificate opportunities that can launch careers in the transportation and industrial fields.

The free event will be held in the Workforce Careers Center. Registration is available at www.llcc.edu/expo or by calling 217-786-2577. Attendees can visit various state-of-the-art labs with hands-on activities, talk with program instructors and industry experts, and take first steps in the enrollment process.

The KUDOS awards are an informal way to recognize the special contributions — small and large — made by faculty and staff that create the positive environment that is LLCC. Brighten someone’s day. Say, “Thank you! Great job!” by nominating that person for a KUDOS award!

Sign up to be a Welcome Week volunteer

LLCC Public Relations and Marketing is looking for volunteers to assist at the welcome table in A. Lincoln Commons Aug. 19-22 during the first week of fall classes. Help students get a great start to the fall semester by answering their questions and providing directions. FAQs will be on the tables again along with highlighters to help mark students’ routes to their classes.

Lynn Whalen and Kyla Kruse complete NCMPR Leadership Institute

NCMPR Leadership Institute class of 2019Congratulations to Lynn Whalen, executive director of public relations and marketing, and Kyla Kruse, assistant director of public relations, who completed the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations’ Leadership Institute June 20-21. The institute’s theme, “Managing Up, Down and Across Your Campus,” focused on higher-level leadership skills in community college marketing and PR.

Welcome Emily Smith!

Emily previously worked for Illinois College as senior admission counselor, recruiting in the St. Louis area. She earned an associate degree from LLCC and bachelor’s degree from IC.
