Wellness Screening, Flu Shot Clinic & Benefits Fair – Oct. 11

On Tuesday, Oct. 11 from 7-11:30 a.m., Lincoln Land Community College will once again be offering benefit-eligible employees and their spouses the opportunity to participate in a wellness screening and flu shot clinic in the Trutter Center.  To participate, view the screening guide for detailed instructions to register.  The screening and flu shot is free to benefit-eligible employees and their spouses who are currently enrolled in an LLCC health insurance plan.  For those who are not on LLCC’s health insurance, you may still participate, but you will be responsible for the cost of the screening and flu shot.

Employees who fully participate in the wellness screening (biometric screening AND online health risk assessment questionnaire) will receive a $50 Visa gift card!

We will also be sponsoring a benefits fair in the Trutter Center, giving employees an opportunity to interact with various benefit providers who will be on-hand to answer your questions.  Benefits fair attendees will be eligible to participate in a drawing for prizes!

For those benefit-eligible employees who are unable to attend on Oct. 11, but wish to participate and qualify for the gift card, please contact Nicole Ralph at nicole.ralph@llcc.edu.

Staff Sick Bank open enrollment begins today

The staff sick bank committee recently came together to review the past year’s activity and discuss possible changes for the upcoming year.  It was decided that no changes will be made to the current operational guidelines and due to the current sick bank balance, this year will be a “free year” for current members.

If you are a current member of the sick bank, your membership status will not change. Even though a membership fee is not required of you this year, you are eligible to donate 1 or 2 sick days to the bank at your discretion.  This can be done by completing the attached enrollment form.

If you are interested in changing your current sick bank participation status, please complete the form below and return to HR by Sept. 15.  New members will be required to give one sick day as a membership fee.  Please contact one of the committee members or HR with questions.

If you have any questions, please contact Libby Elder at ext 62254 or Robin Ackman at ext 62762. Thank you.

Helpful Tip for Health Savings Account Participants

For those on the High Deductible Plan (HDP) with a health savings account, prescription cost management is a critical aspect of managing your health savings account funds.  Under the HDP, prescription drug expenses must go to deductible first before co-insurance will be applied to those claims.  The retail cost of some prescriptions is fairly high.  To help manage those costs, there is a helpful website, www.goodrx.com.  This website will search local pharmacies and provide you with the retail cost of that prescription, so you may comparison shop.  The website also provides you access to discounts and coupons for many prescription drugs.

Please look for more useful tips in future Linc articles!  If you have a cost-saving tip that you would like to share, please contact Nicole Ralph in the Human Resources office at 6-2342 or nicole.ralph@llcc.edu.
