Extended registration hours for week of Aug. 15
There is still time to register for fall 2022 classes at LLCC. The fall semester begins Aug. 20.
During the week of Aug. 15, LLCC Student Services, Bookstore and LLCC-Taylorville will be open Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, Aug. 20, Student Services will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The LLCC Bookstore will be open on Saturdays, Aug. 13, 20 and 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Current students may register for classes via LoggerCentral at www.llcc.edu/logger-central. New students should first fill out an application at www.llcc.edu/apply. Students may also visit or call the Springfield campus (217-786-2292) or LLCC Outreach Centers in Jacksonville (217-243-6699), Beardstown (217-323-4103), Taylorville (217-786-2754) or Litchfield (217-786-3401).
In addition to traditional 16-week classes, LLCC has expanded the number of eight-week classes offered. They provide the same content, number of credits, services and support as 16-week classes, but on a different schedule. Tisha Miller, enrollment coordinator, LLCC-Taylorville and LLCC-Litchfield, was on hand to promote LLCC programs.
LLCC-Beardstown fall hours
LLCC-Beardstown’s hours of operation for fall will be:
- Aug. 1-19: Mon.-Wed., 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Aug. 22-Dec. 17: Mon.-Wed., 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Thu., 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

LLCC Ag and LLCC-Taylorville partnered to be a sponsor of the Christian County Ag Fair this year. As part of the sponsorship, LLCC banners were placed at the main entrances of the fair and the Ag Building, LLCC was announced as a sponsor during the grandstand events and hand-held fans were disbursed during the Little Miss, Jr. Miss and Miss Christian County queen pageants.

The July issue of “Keep on Truckin’,” the magazine of the Mid-West Truckers Association, features a story about the donations of trucks and chassis to LLCC’s new diesel technologies program. The donations came from CIT Trucks and Rush Truck Centers. Jeff Gardner, director, diesel technologies program, is quoted in the article.
New mural at LLCC-Jacksonville honors Dr. Alonzo Kenniebrew
A new mural commissioned by Jacksonville Main Street has been installed on the side of LLCC-Jacksonville, 32 N. Central Park Plaza. The mural honors Dr. Alonzo H. Kenniebrew, the first African American to own and operate a hospital in the U.S. He ran New Home Sanitarium in Jacksonville for nearly 20 years in the early 1900s.
