CAS to host Final Exam Prep Seminars for LLCC Students
Just a reminder that the Center for Academic Success will be hosting final exam prep seminars for LLCC students Dec. 6 and 8. Seminars will be conducted both in-person in the Center for Academic Success and virtually via Zoom.
Topics include:
- Developing a study plan
- Tips on how to study
- Tips on how to answer objective, short answer and essay exam questions
- Managing test anxiety
Students may register by completing the online registration form or by visiting the Center for Academic Success webpage at www.llcc.edu/cas.
Registration closes Friday, Dec. 3, at noon.
Open interviews for spring peer tutors Dec. 1 & 2
Faculty and staff, please refer your top students to the Center for Academic Success or this Zoom link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7567415055?pwd=V3cwQkxMRTZIZnducC9qRlVPcFcrdz09 for open interviews this Wednesday and Thursday to be a peer tutor. Open interviews are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and are first come, first serve with no appointment needed.
We need tutors in all subjects (math, science, business/economics, workforce, social science) and at all LLCC locations!
CAS looking to hire peer tutors for spring
Faculty: Please refer top students to Jamie McCoy, student academic support programs coordinator, for open interviews (both in-person and online options available) for peer tutoring on Dec. 1 & 2 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Tutors are needed in all subject areas and for all LLCC locations. The most requested subjects are math, science, computer science and social science courses.
Peer Tutor Requirements:
• 3.0 minimum GPA
• enrolled (or plan to enroll) in 6 credit hours for spring
• earned a minimum of 12 college credits
• A’s in courses they want to tutor OR instructor recommendation
• Patient, welcoming, calm, helpful personality

Math Center schedule for fall 2021
The LLCC Math Center opens for the fall semester on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 9 a.m. The Math Center is staffed by both faculty and peer tutors. The fall 2021 in-person hours are Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Math Center will also be available remotely on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 2-7 p.m.
