Academy of Lifelong Learning Winter Celebration TODAY

The LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning (ALL) invites the public to its Winter Celebration, “The Beach is a State of Mind,” today, Friday, Jan. 29. The free event takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Trutter Center. Attendees do not have to be ALL members to attend. Registration for the event is available by calling 786.2432.

Each year, the Academy of Lifelong Learning hosts a special event to help seniors enjoy learning even with the onset of cold weather. This year, the group will combat the temperature by imagining themselves on a beach, with live music by Flip Flop Dave, a potluck, activities and prizes for best beach attire and best beach hat. Community Ed seeking new instructors!

Community Education is seeking new instructors to teach for the Summer/Fall 2016! Do you or someone you know have a desire to teach others a new skill, hobby or interest? We are open to most topics that teach personal development skills. Classes range from arts, history, languages, youth enrichment, sports, family or DIY. Mid-day Yoga begins next week

The Community Education Midday Yoga class is starting next week.  The course is designed for all levels. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat. Academy of Lifelong Learning Chilli Supper this Sunday

The LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning is holding a Chilli Supper this Sunday, Sept. 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The public is invited to the event being held at Temple B’rith Sholom Social Hall, 1004 S. Fourth St., Springfield.

The event will feature “chilli” made by Les Eastep, famous Springfield chilli chef and cook-off judge. There also will be a book exchange and exhibits about Academy of Lifelong Learning programs and activities.

The Academy of Lifelong Learning is hosting its first annual Chilli Supper on Sunday, Sept. 27 from 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. at the Temple B’rith Sholom Social Hall, 1004 S. 4th St. Springfield’s very own Les Eastep, an ALL member known in the community for his chilli, will be the chef for this event!
