Thank you to those who helped with Rochester 6th Grade Tours!

The PRM staff would like thank everyone who assisted in any way with the nearly 180 Rochester 6th graders who visited campus Thursday.

During a special presentation, the LLCC Chemistry Club and Law Enforcement Assistant Professor Randy Rue wowed the students with demonstrations highlighting classes and programs at LLCC. Mary Beth Ray, director of Career Development Services, talked to the students about “Finding Their Future” and how to make wise decisions when choosing a career.

Following the presentation, students toured the Workforce Careers Center and the Nursing and Emergency Services areas.

Faculty and staff providing information to students included Jay Kitterman, Cynthia Maskey, Janice Badgett, Bob Howard, Nancy Sweet, Jolene Adams, Julie Rourke, Dan Sheedy, Dave Green, Keven Tait, Jim Betts, Bob Andrews, Leon Williams, Bill Harmon, Nick Ferreira.

As students heard from faculty and staff about various careers and programs, they enjoyed mini cupcakes made by the Culinary Arts program, popcorn from a popper fueled with solar energy and soda/ice made in the HVAC department. They also experienced honking the horn in a semi-truck and got some Kodak moments in the Jaguar and go-cart in the automotive area.
