Cybersecurity awareness training starting this week

As mentioned last month, we are about to begin a cybersecurity awareness training program with a company named Infosec IQ.  This will entail a series of short training courses (one or two a month) and potentially some simulated phishing emails.  These courses focus on subjects like password management, identity theft, malware, social engineering, phishing, spear phishing, physical security, Business Email Compromise (BEC), Internet of Things (IoT), travel safety, mobile data, privacy and acceptable use. The purpose of putting this training into place is to raise awareness to the threats in our environment and to avoid costly data breaches. Onboarding is a simple process. Users will be sent an enrollment email, notifying them of an assigned course. The provided link will take the learner directly to their dashboard to complete each corresponding module.

The Road to Cybersecurity never ends

If you see strange activity on your computer, report it. The Road to Cybersecurity. Lincoln Land Community College This may be the last week of our campaign, but The Road to Cybersecurity never truly ends. It takes small precautions from each of us, every day, to keep ourselves and the college secure.

Remember, you don’t have to be a cybersecurity expert to stay safe and secure. Follow our security policies to make sure you’re taking the right precautions and if you see something suspicious, please report it!

The road to cybersecurity: the importance of verification

The Road to Cybersecurity. Verify. From IT Team to You. Plz install update now. Hello, please click here to install the latest updates to your computer immediately. STOPThanks again for taking this trip on The Road to Cybersecurity! This week, we’re talking about the importance of verification.

Cybercriminals like to send mixed signals. They may impersonate your supervisor or even Dr. Warren and make odd requests to wire money, purchase gift cards or share sensitive information.

Even if a request appears to come from a legitimate sender, verify using a different communication method. Give them a call, send them an instant message on Teams or drop by their desk to confirm. Better safe than sorry!
