Cybercriminals like to send mixed signals. They may impersonate your supervisor or even Dr. Warren and make odd requests to wire money, purchase gift cards or share sensitive information.

Even if a request appears to come from a legitimate sender, verify using a different communication method. Give them a call, send them an instant message on Teams or drop by their desk to confirm. Better safe than sorry!
