Kick off the new school year with Convocation this Friday!
Convocation for faculty and staff will be this Friday, Aug. 18 beginning at 1 p.m. in Cass Gym with an address by President Charlotte Warren. Enjoy a social from 4-6 p.m. in the outdoor Hamilton Area with games galore, great food prepared by Chef Howard and LLCC culinary students, beverages and music from the band Myers Brant & Paoni. Let’s celebrate!
On your way into Cass Gym, be sure to drop off a donation to help restock the LLCC Pantry. View a list of currently needed items. You are also welcome to drop donations off in LLCC Student Life anytime this week.
Plan to attend Convocation Aug. 18
The annual Convocation for faculty and staff to kick off the 2023-24 academic year will be held Friday, Aug. 18. Activities include an address by Dr. Warren at 1 p.m. in Cass Gym and a social from 4-6 p.m. in the Hamilton Area.
On your way into Cass Gym, consider dropping off a donation to help restock the LLCC Pantry! There will be a table set up to accept items.
Currently needed items are listed below:
- Grab-and-go food items (chewy protein/granola bars, microwave ready soups/pastas/pork & beans with easy open lids, microwaveable flavored rice/quinoa, single-serving peanut butter crackers, instant cups of noodles/ramen, microwaveable mac and cheese, fruit snacks, fruit cups/applesauce, ready to eat tuna or chicken salad packets/meal kits, individual jerky/meat sticks, hot Vienna sausages, pudding cups (chocolate or vanilla), trail mix/mixed nuts, juice pouches)
- Personal hygiene products (menstrual products/personal wipes, lip balm, travel-size/small body wash, toothpaste/toothbrushes, hand soap, deodorant, lotion, facial tissues, travel-size hand sanitizers, sandwich bags to create small hygiene kits)
- School supplies (index cards, notebooks, loose leaf paper, pens, pencils)
You are also welcome to drop donations off in LLCC Student Life the week of Convocation.

Convocation begins at 1 p.m. today. There will be refreshments and a slide show featuring new employees, so be sure to arrive early!
Tables will be in Cass Gym Friday during Convocation and at the “Last Call Before Fall” event from 4-6 p.m. inside and outside the Student Union to accept donations to the LLCC Food Pantry. Convocation is today!
The annual Convocation to kick off the 2021-22 academic year is being held today, Aug. 20, at 9 a.m. in Cass Gym. Seating will be spaced and masks will be required. There will not be a breakfast this year, but bottled water will be available. If unable to attend in person, Convocation is being livestreamed so that you can still participate (link sent in email from LLCC News).

Virtual Convocation 2020 is today!
Get ready for the new academic year by attending Virtual Convocation 2020 today at 9 a.m.! Virtual Convocation is available on Stream, a Microsoft 365 app. You will need to be logged in to Office 365 to view. The video is available below, and a link has also been sent via email.
