Bill Bade, dean, Math and Sciences, was interviewed by the SJ-R Feb. 10 on the upcoming 5th grade Rube Goldberg “outlandish machine” competition at LLCC.
Judy Wagenblast, director, Community Education, was interviewed by WICS Feb. 8 on the “6 Degrees of Abraham Lincoln” presentation at the Hoogland Center for the Arts.
Ryan Bailey and Ashley Lawrence were crowned the LLCC 2014 Homecoming King and Queen during the “Carnaval” homecoming dance Feb. 8.
Mr. Bailey, a geography major, is a pitcher for the LLCC Loggers baseball team and a member of Phi Theta Kappa academic honor society. He plans to transfer to a four-year university to continue his geography studies and baseball career.
Ms. Lawrence is pursuing an associate in science degree with plans to study veterinary medicine. She is a member of the Student Government Association, Loggers Activities Board, Student United Way and serves as a new student orientation leader.
Students were nominated for the homecoming court based on academic achievement, leadership and service, then selected by a vote of the student body. The homecoming court also included Tracy Johnson, Dylan Langiano, Virginia Moore, Jordan Roach, Austin Friedmeyer and Samuel Jackson.
This week, Nancy Sweet, culinary operations manager, will do a 10-minute interview on WMAY at 12:35 p.m. Monday (Business Focus) and WTAX at 6:40 a.m. Wednesday. Thursday “FOX SCENE” will film a segment during the lunch hours.

The cold winter weather means that the cold and flu season is in full swing. According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, while similar,
colds and influenza are two different respiratory illnesses.
The CDC recommends a yearly flu vaccine to prevent against the flu virus.
