On Nov. 20, the ADN hybrid nursing students received their American Red Cross Student Nursing pin in recognition of 10+ hours of community service and specialized training. This is the first time a nursing school in central Illinois has partnered with the Red Cross to complete the Red Cross Disaster Health and Sheltering training. This course introduced the nursing students to how they could help in a disaster response and involved them in a tabletop exercise facilitated by Dr. Pam Bradley, professor of nursing, and the Illinois State Lead Nurse, Elizabeth Dady.
