In the Community

The OTA program has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Illinois to offer a Fit-For-Life program to their after-school participants in grades K-8.

LLCC Level I OTA fieldwork students have introduced this program and are coaching participation in “Stepping Out,” walking for fitness, Zumba, basketball sports skills, a speech competition and personal goal planning for children at all grade levels. Participants have come to know LLCC through IDI grant run programming and are now partners in OTA fieldwork experiences.

On Oct. 30 participants were delighted by a special visit from Pawfficer Ember and her volunteer partner for the day, Officer Baehr. Ember was on duty bringing smiles and Halloween treat bags to children in the program. Thank you to the LLCC Police Department for always going the extra mile to support the LLCC community and beyond!
