LLCC’s United Way campaign kicks off today with an opportunity for you to help local agencies who help those in need in our community. Make your pledge on the LLCC United Way donation page.
Today, we’ll focus on how United Way of Central Illinois helps people with basic needs: providing emergency food, shelter and provisions when needed most.
Last year, United Way-funded agencies provided over 425,000 meals and 29,000 nights of shelter through grant partners:
- Catholic Charities
- Contact Ministries
- Helping Hands of Springfield, Inc.
- Mini O’Beirne Crisis Nursery
- Senior Services of Central Illinois
- Sojourn Shelter and Services
Also, wherever you are in life, you never know when a friend, loved one, co-worker, student or even you may need help. Last year, 4,000 people in our community turned to 211 for help. Funded by United Way, 211 is the number to call 24/7 to reach someone to connect you with community resources during your time of need.
