FDRC first round of applications request

Hello faculty,

The Faculty Development and Recognition Committee (FDRC) has $8,000 to distribute to faculty members whose proposals are accepted for professional development and recognition activities during the 2023-2024 fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023-June 30, 2024.

Proposals may be submitted for activities related to enhancing your teaching or professional research where the cost of the activity exceeds what is in your individual LLCC professional development account. Your departmental dean or Lynn Gerton should be able to provide you with this balance.

Please note that all funds must be spent before June 30, 2024. For example, if you plan to attend a conference in July 2024, you will not be reimbursed for travel expenses. However, if you have the option to pre-pay the registration fees, you may want to consider applying.

If you seek and receive funding for graduate or doctoral coursework, then reimbursement occurs after proof of course completion and a passing grade. This information can be sent directly to Lynn Gerton.

To apply and be considered for funding, complete the FDRC Professional Development Proposal Form in its entirety. If your proposal includes travel, then complete, scan, and include a LLCC Travel Form, signed and approved by your dean, along with your proposal.

The first round of proposal requests is due on or before 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, 2023.

Email your completed proposal form, pertinent documents (i.e. additional info, receipts, fees, etc.) and travel forms signed by your dean as attachments to samantha.reif@llcc.edu.

Adjunct faculty: Connect how the proposed activity ties directly to the courses you are teaching at LLCC in your proposal form. Also, where relevant state if you are also slated to teach these courses in upcoming semesters for LLCC.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Good luck!
