Student survey: Course material affordability and experiences

This fall, LLCC is participating in a student survey about course material affordability and experiences. This is a statewide survey designed for students to share information about the cost of textbooks and instructional materials, the impact that textbook costs are having on their educations, their preferences for course material formats and their experiences with affordable course materials.

The survey is administered by the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI) and will inform how best to support Illinois students’ course material needs in the future. As part of the survey project, LLCC will receive its own data to help support our students locally.

Each student will receive an email inviting them to participate. That email will be sent to their LLCC email account beginning Tuesday, Sept. 5. An announcement will also go out through Canvas on the same day. Students can submit responses through the end of the fall semester, and the survey should take less than 10 minutes to complete.

The survey was also administered during the spring 2023 semester.
