LLCC employees are invited to participate in the United Way of Central Illinois Campaign Kickoff Event: Battle of the Paddle, Thursday, Sept. 14, 3-5 p.m. at Iles Park, 2000 S. 6th St., Springfield.

• Start a pickleball team of 2
• Raise a minimum of $500 per team. United Way will provide an online crowdfunding page for teams to share with family, friends, and coworkers to raise funds. Teams can also make a single donation.
• Teams will begin competition at 3 p.m. and continue play through the Kickoff program that starts at 3:30 p.m. in an adjacent tent.
• Community members are encouraged to cheer on their favorite teams.
• Kickoff attendees will join the crowd before and after the program.
