Annual Lincoln Lecture today, 9 a.m. in Trutter

Bob BunnYou’re invited to the annual Lincoln Lecture this morning at 9 a.m. in the Trutter Center  (also available via Zoom,
meeting ID: 817 3502 5674). “The Bunns and the Lincolns: A Family Friendship 1840-1882” will be presented by Bob Bunn. He will focus on John and Jacob Bunn, who were good friends and business associates of the Lincoln family. John Bunn also served as a pallbearer at President Lincoln’s funeral.

Other Lincoln-themed events this week:

LLCC campus: Lincoln Bingo tomorrow, Feb. 14, with Lincoln cookies in A. Lincoln Commons from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. Lincoln Jeopardy this Thursday, Feb. 16, and Lincoln-themed games on Friday, Feb. 17. Games will include a mini log cabin building competition and online Lincoln trivia.

LLCC-Jacksonville: Live streaming of the Lincoln Lecture by Bob Bunn. Also, a week-long scavenger hunt to learn about the life of Abraham Lincoln and a chance to win a gift card. There will be cookies and snacks for students and staff available all day today, Feb. 13, and on Friday, Feb. 17, a group of students will travel to Springfield to visit the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum.

LLCC-Taylorville and -Litchfield: Live streaming of the Lincoln Lecture by Bob Bunn. Information on local Lincoln attractions will be dispersed, a “Design a Selfie with Lincoln” station and refreshments will be available.
