Dr. Charlotte Warren, LLCC president, wrote the essay “#CCmonth shines a light on community colleges” for the State Journal-Register April 3.
Laurie Lewis-Fritz, associate professor of music, was recently a guest writer for the spring 2022 edition of Podium, a publication put out by the Illinois chapter of the American Choral Directors Association. The article, entitled “Something About Lemons and Lemonade: The Journey to IL ACDA” details the LLCC Choir’s performance trip to the Illinois ACDA Fall Conference in October 2021 — from the year of pandemic-impacted rehearsals, to the audition, to the invitation to perform and the subsequent preparation, to the performance itself as the only community college with a performing choir. The article also includes information about closing the loop regarding recruitment for the music program.
