Karen Sisk, assistant professor of English and humanities, will present “Promoting Mindfulness and Focus on Students With Short Writing Assignments” today, March 16, 3:30-4:30 p.m. via Zoom.
To promote mindfulness and focus in our courses, we can incorporate short writing assignments such as letters and reflections done as homework or in class in which students set their course goals and how they will go about achieving them, reflect on their performance at various stages in the course and reflect on what they did well in the course. This workshop will give you ideas on how to design these types of assignments as well as discuss the benefits of incorporating these assignments both for students and instructors.
