Removing content and grades from Blackboard

As we get closer to the end of the college’s contract with Blackboard, it is important that everyone continues to work on exporting course content and gradebooks out of Blackboard to retain any content needed for record keeping and/or migration to Canvas. For record keeping it is important that you export each course and export the gradebook for each course as a separate file. This should produce two separate files for each course in Blackboard that you intend to keep information from.

The deadline to have all Blackboard exports and backups complete is 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

In addition to exporting content and gradebooks, you will want to take specific steps if you will be giving a student an incomplete this semester from a course delivered in Blackboard or have a student completing an incomplete in Blackboard from a previous semester. Instructions on how to transition incomplete students and their work from Blackboard to Canvas have been developed to assist you in this process. If you have any questions about these steps, please contact Andy Mitkos at andy.mitkos@llcc.edu or 217-786-2763.

Additionally, a Blackboard/Canvas transition webpage has been developed to support the move to the new learning management system. Please visit this site for further information and instructions to assist with transitioning your course materials.
