LLCC’s ADN 244, fourth semester nursing students participated in a pediatric airway simulation on Sept. 26. Charlene S. Aaron, Ph.D., R.N., chancellor with St. John’s College of Nursing and Sonja Harvey, D.N.P., R.N., associate dean of LLCC Nursing, collaborated for nursing students to share an experience as one of the first groups to utilize the mobile simulation lab. Gregg Kater and Barbara Huttman were the two instructors from St. John’s College to collaborate with Joi Mauk, LLCC nursing instructor. Students worked through identification and management of an emergent pediatric airway condition while using a high fidelity simulator to promote critical thinking and teamwork.
