LLCC is participating in the Springfield Area Arts Council’s On My Own Time program, providing LLCC faculty and staff the opportunity to display original art created outside the office. Faculty and staff may each enter up to three artworks created since 2014 for $5 per entry fee. Artwork, artwork entry form, artwork identification form and fees will need to be submitted by Wednesday, Sept. 6 to one of the LLCC coordinators (Misty, Judy or Janet).
There are 12 categories of artwork:
- Painting
- Drawing
Printmaking/Etching- Mixed Media/Collage
- Fiber/Fabric/Quilts & Needlework (including handmade paper or basketry)
- Pottery/Ceramics
- Photography
- Digital Art
- Jewelry
- Sculpture
- Glass
- Other (art that doesn’t fit into other categories including but not limited to artificial floral arrangements)

The LLCC community is invited to an opening reception at the Trutter Museum on Thursday, Sept. 21 from 4-6 p.m.
The city-wide exhibit at the Springfield Art Association (in October) will showcase first place award-winning artwork from all participating businesses, agencies and institutions. Last year, seven LLCC employees had 10 pieces of art move on to the city-wide exhibit!
