50 Years in the Making: Library Archival Exhibit Celebrating LLCC’s 50th Anniversary

Did you know Lincoln Land Community College once had a yearbook? Or that LLCC was lovingly referred to as Plywood U in its early days? Stop by the LLCC Library (1st floor Sangamon) to learn other interesting tidbits by checking out our exhibit celebrating LLCC’s 50th anniversary from the perspective of our Library Archives. The exhibit will run through the rest of the spring semester and is viewable anytime the library is open.

Additionally, there will be a study carrel next to the exhibit. Here, you can put on the headphones and listen to an oral history project conducted by the 50th Anniversary History Committee, which focuses on LLCC “Firsts”. Interviews include: Dr. Robert Poorman, the first President of the College; Mr. Eldon Greenwood, member of the first Board of Trustees; Professor Arthur Lindsay, member of the first teaching faculty; Mr. William “Bill” Amesfirst student at Lincoln Land; and, Dr. Charlotte Warren, first female President of the College.
