The LLCC bird banding station just banded the 15,000th bird (female northern cardinal) since the its opening in the fall of 2012.  Other facts from Tony Rothering, professor of biology:
– We also banded our 800th House Finch yesterday.
– So far this fall we have banded 2268 birds of 77 species.
– The fall banding season will end this coming Friday 11/18.
– A final report for this fall’s banding season will be forthcoming.
– The spring banding season will begin the last week of March 2017.
