Radiography program updates classroom with energized x-ray unit

Thanks to a generous donation from Memorial Medical Center, the LLCC radiography program has been able to energize the x-ray unit in its Logan Hall classroom. Previously, students could practice positioning and moving the table but now they can actually expose x-ray phantoms, see the outcome and analyze their images. As an added aspect of the new lab, Program Director and Instructor Janelle Murphy attended an educational workshop at the University of North Carolina in May. At the three-day workshop, Janelle received coursework education and hands-on training on using digital equipment and ways to enhance the classroom experience for students. The use of the energized lab should be a great advantage to radiography students as they prepare to begin clinical rotations this fall.
