LLCC hosted a site review for continuing accreditation of the associate degree nursing program and initial accreditation of the licensed practical nursing program by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) this week. Valerie Wright, associate dean of nursing, reports:
The ACEN site visitors found both the ADN and LPN programs in FULL compliance with all of the standards and criteria! There were a few areas for development, but those were to be expected. Their recommendation to ACEN will be full reaccreditation for the ADN program for eight years and full initial accreditation for the LPN program for five years (which is standard for an initial accreditation). The next step will be a review by the Evaluation Review Panel which will meet in June and then the final step is approval (hopefully) by the ACEN Board of Commissioners in July.
I had the privilege of transporting the visitors throughout the visit and they could not say enough great things about our program, students, faculty and staff. Words simply cannot describe my sincere gratitude for all that everyone has done. It would be a very long email to list everyone who was involved in this process, but please know, your hard work and efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Together, we had a successful visit and what an honor and privilege it has been to be a small part of it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
With gratitude,
Valerie Wright MSN, RN, CNE
