Jan Terry, executive director at LLCC-Jacksonville, received the following letter from the parent of an LLCC student who nominated LLCC-J for a special award.

Dear Jan,

I recently attended the 2014 Illinois Statewide Transition Conference in Springfield and nominated LLCC for an award:

I want to vote for Lincoln Land Community College campus in Jacksonville, Ill. My son has High Functioning Autism and this is his third semester there. The staff are helpful, kind and friendly to him. They demonstrate true concern and tolerance towards him. If it wasn’t for their Special Needs program, he would not be in his third semester. I am sure they are this way with all of their special needs students. Mrs. Jan Terry is the Jacksonville Campus Director and Ms. Linda Chriswell is the Director of the Special Needs Department for all of the Lincoln Land Community College Schools.

I am happy to say you won. I have the plaque as they gave it to me at the conference but the name plate that goes with it will be mailed to you. I will get the plaque to you as soon as possible. Congratulations!
