Special needs children and their parents/guardians are invited to a free concert tomorrow morning, April 5, in the Trutter Center. “Jazzin’ It Up with Jack and Friends” takes place from 10 a.m. to noon and features performances by LLCC music ensembles, along with an “instrument petting zoo” in which children can view and touch band instruments.
The schedule of events includes a performance by the LLCC Stolen Moments ensemble, directed by Jason Waddell, from 10-10:30 a.m.; instrument petting zoo from 10:30 to 11:15; and a performance by the LLCC Big Band, directed by Jane Hartman, from 11:15-11:45, followed by refreshments.
A number of students from the Hope Institute for Children and Families and their helpers will be in attendance. Anyone with a special needs child may RSVP to attend by emailing robin.ackman@llcc.edu or calling 786.2762.
Sunday, the first annual Central Illinois Junior FIRST® LEGO® League Expo will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. in Cass Gymnasium. The public is invited to the free event, to view the work of 24 regional Junior FIRST® LEGO® League teams of children aged 6-9.
