The Lincoln Land Community College Choir, under the direction of Sue Hamilton, adjunct instructor of music, was recently honored by the United States Postal Service for the choir’s participation in the Feb. 12 unveiling ceremony for a new President Abraham Lincoln postage stamp at the Old State Capitol.
Susan K. Litterly, customer relations coordinator for the USPS, visited the choir class March 7 and presented Ms. Hamilton and the choir with a framed photo of the stamp, along with a letter from USPS Executive Vice President Jeff Williamson. Mr. Williamson wrote that the music provided by the LLCC choir “was amazing and made the ceremony complete. I was very pleased that a choir from the local community college participated in the unveiling ceremony.”
