Celebrating writing Oct. 17-21

Write your journey

The LLCC Writing Center is celebrating the National Day on Writing and the feeling of empowerment that can come through the written word all this week, Oct. 17-21! Did you know that LLCC serves approximately 11,150 individuals annually through credit and non-credit courses? That number encompasses 11,150 narratives of why and how students have made LLCC one of their destinations and how they hope their sojourn at LLCC will equip them for the next stop on their academic and career journeys.

Join the Writing Center in creating a “route” with your own short narrative (no more than one page in length) that identifies where you are from, why you are here and where your itinerary is taking you next.

  • Option #1: Email your story to the LLCC Writing Center by Oct. 21. Be sure to include your name and phone number.
  • Option #2: Drop by the Writing Center (lower level of library) by Oct. 21, and post your story on our map.

Each participants’ anecdote will go into a drawing for a $40 gas card at week’s end.

How well do you know central Illinois?

Also stop by the Writing Center all week for roadside attractions!
