National Surgical Technology Week Sept. 21-27
Constitution Day program at LLCC Sept. 17
LLCC is presenting a Constitution Day program Wednesday, Sept. 17 at noon entitled “Free Speech Under Fire: Does the First Amendment Apply to Higher Education?” The presentation takes place in the Trutter Center on the Springfield campus.
Presenters for the event are Anthony DiMaggio, Ph.D., LLCC political science assistant professor, and John K. Wilson, co-editor of AcademeBlog.org and editor of Illinois Academe. The presentation includes what the scope of the first amendment is and should be, related to academia, in addition to recent issues concerning academic freedom and free speech. Read more…

Sessions B, C & E will meet at the Capital City Training Center from 8:15 a.m. – 4 p.m. the first day, and 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. the second day. Coffee will be served from 8 – 8:15 a.m. both days and lunch will be served on the first day only.
For session D, the first day (March 24) will be held at LLCC on Professional Development Day and will be an all-day session (8:15 a.m. – 4 p.m.). The second day will be held at CCTC from 8:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Summer 2014 and Mod VI grades are due Monday, August 4th by noon. Check your LLCC email for details. Online Grading Notices are distributed via faculty llcc.edu email only.
Summer session coming to a close
Textbook buyback begins today and runs through Thursday. Mod VI classes end tomorrow, July 30. Summer session final exams are being held tomorrow and Thursday.
Adjunct Instructors Fair today, 11-2
Know someone who might be interested in teaching part-time at LLCC? Invite them to attend the Adjunct Instructors Fair TODAY from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons. Representatives from all academic departments will be on hand to answer questions and provide information on how to become an LLCC adjunct instructor. Refreshments will be served. There is an immediate need for daytime instructors in the fields of psychology, anthropology, humanities, speech, art, chemistry, geography and biology. Teaching assignments at the main campus and other LLCC locations are available.
