LEAGUE Luau, March 27

LEAGUE LUAU

Evan Miller

Giving to LEAGUE is about supporting students, like Evan Miller. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me reach my dream and pushing me closer to my goal … for reminding me that hard work doesn’t go unseen … for reminding me that it’s worth it.” – Evan Miller

What is LEAGUE?

LEAGUE is an acronym for Leaders Establishing Annual Gifts Underwriting Education and is the annual opportunity for LLCC faculty and staff to make charitable donations back to the college. Funds raised go directly to support LLCC students through scholarships, grants and other Foundation funds. No LEAGUE dollars are used for operating expenses for the LLCC Foundation.

Nearly half of all LLCC faculty and staff donate to the LLCC Foundation through the LEAGUE campaign. Besides the great work you do every day, LLCC faculty and staff truly support their own.

Join us for the LEAGUE Luau on Professional Development Day, Tuesday, March 27 at 11:30 a.m. in the student union. A luau-style lunch will be provided, and all are welcome to participate in the fun.

Why give?

Most people say a personal connection is the main reason for charitable giving and because they feel it’s the right thing to do. What better investment than our students? You’re truly making their lives better with the gift of education.

LEAGUE grant applications due today

LEAGUE grant applications are due to the LLCC Foundation by 5 p.m. today. Access grant guidelines as well as the application and budget worksheet at www.llccfoundation.org/educational-support.

Faculty and staff make these grants possible through their generous giving to the annual faculty and staff campaign each spring known as LEAGUE. The LLCC Foundation will award approximately $10,000 as a direct result of the success of the annual faculty and staff campaign.

Donations to the LEAGUE campaign support LLCC students through the LEAGUE grant program, scholarships and other funds, including the “Pay It Forward” fund that helps students with emergent needs. Each year approximately 40 percent of LLCC faculty and staff support the LLCC Foundation through this campaign. Our thanks to our generous faculty and staff for contributing more than $53,000 to the 2017 LEAGUE campaign!

Awards will be announced at the LEAGUE kickoff on Mar. 28. Please contact the LLCC Foundation at 786-2785 for more information.
