Sexual Assault Awareness Month Jeans Day

In observance of National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM), the Computer Science Academy and the Gay-Straight Alliance clubs are sponsoring a Jeans Day on Thursday, April 20. Proceeds will be donated to the Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault (PCASA). Anyone at any LLCC location can participate. Donations can be taken to the Student Life Office and teal ribbons can be worn to show support for SAAM.

“Vagina Monologues” this Friday & Saturday

LLCC is presenting a production of Eve Ensler’s “The Vagina Monologues” Friday, March 31 and Saturday, April 1. The production is being held in the Trutter Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

This year’s performance features a pre-show called “Cis-iety Interrupted,” with original monologues from LLCC students and faculty and Springfield community members. The pre-show begins at 7 p.m. followed by “The Vagina Monologues” at 8 pm. The production includes adult themes and language.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the door or in the ticket office in Menard Hall. More information on LLCC’s production is available from Dr. Deborah Brothers, professor of English, at 786.4966 or deborah.brothers@llcc.edu.

Honors Program selling Krispy Kremes today!

The Honors Program is selling Krispy Kreme donuts TODAY in the A. Lincoln Commons from 8 a.m.-1 pm. Original glazed donuts are available and the cost is $6 per dozen. Cash or checks payable to “LLCC.” Proceeds from the fundraiser will help the Honors Program Club members pay for a Chicago museums day trip. Please consider purchasing a dozen (or two!).

The Black Student Union is hosting Haircut Wednesday TODAY for LLCC students in the A. Lincoln Commons. Stop by and receive a free haircut between 11 a.m.-2 p.m.

The LLCC Dance Club: EYS is hosting a bake sale TODAY from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the A. Lincoln Commons. Stop by their table to purchase some homemade treats including raisin bread, pretzels, chocolate-dipped pretzel rods, strawberry butter cookies and more! Proceeds from the sale will go be used to support the club activities and performances.

Ag Club hosts 5th annual Farmer’s Share Luncheon March 24; limited number of tickets available

The LLCC Agriculture Club is hosting its 5th annual Farmers Share Luncheon on Friday, March 24 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the Trutter Center on the main campus. The meal costs $.50, which represents the amount farmers receive from a $6 lunch. Agriculture trivia and games will be played during the meal for those in attendance. The luncheon is a club educational project for members of the campus community. Only 150 tickets will be sold to the public and are available from Ag Club adviser Bill Harmon at 786-2573, bill.harmon@llcc.edu or in the Commons starting today.
