Nominations for 2018 Homecoming Court due today

Please consider nominating a student for king or queen who has had a positive impact on campus and is an exemplary representative of LLCC. The criteria for nominating students can be found on the Homecoming Nomination Form. Hard copies of the form are also available in LLCC Student Life. All forms are due in to LLCC Student Life in the lower level Menard Hall by 5 p.m. today. Homecoming 2018 will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10.   

Stalking Awareness Month Jeans Day

The LLCC English Studies Club is sponsoring a Jeans Day on Thursday, Jan. 25, for National Stalking Awareness Month. To participate, please bring your $5 minimum donation to the LLCC Student Life Office. All monies raised will be sent to the Sojourn Shelter and Services Inc, which provides shelter, safety and counseling for victims of domestic violence. Throughout the month of January, advocates for victims and survivors of stalking will be working to increase awareness of the issue and provide information about local and national resources for victims of stalking.

LLCC Dance Club hosting coffee, hot chocolate and tea sale

The LLCC Dance Club: Express Your Seoul is selling 16-ounce cups of coffee, hot chocolate and tea for $2.50 today from 8 a.m.-noon in the A. Lincoln Commons rotunda. Refills are only $1! Snacks, including granola bars, trail mix and donuts will also be available for $1.

There will be different flavored creamers to choose from — peppermint mocha, caramel macchiato, chocolate mocha and more. You can also add toppings to your hot chocolate. Dance into the holidays with your favorite cup of joe, and support your LLCC dancers!

Chemistry club presents “Careers in Forensic Science”

The LLCC Chemistry Club is hosting a presentation on “Careers in Forensic Science” today from 2:30-3:30 p.m. in S2216. The speaker is Elena Kok, forensic scientist at the Illinois State Police Crime Lab and adjunct professor at LLCC. This event is open to all LLCC students and staff!

LLCC nursing students inducted into Alpha Delta Nu

On November 9, 2017, 15 LLCC nursing students were inducted into the Alpha Delta Nu nursing honor society. Family, friends and nursing faculty attended the event. It took a lot of hard work and dedication for these students to receive this honor. In December 2017, they will be graduating and then starting careers as registered nurses. Congratulations to all!

The LLCC Dance Club: Express Your Seoul will be hosting a coffee and hot chocolate sale on Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 8 a.m.-noon in the A. Lincoln Commons rotunda. Tea, both cold and hot, will also be available. There will be different creamers to choose from, along with toppings for your hot cocoa. Refills will be only $1 during the sale!
