Laura Anderson, assistant professor of art, was featured in the State Journal-Register’s Someone to Know section. Her mixed media painting exhibit, “elemental,” is now open in LLCC’s James S. Murray Gallery. The public is invited to view the exhibit weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Sept. 12 and attend a reception on Thursday, Aug. 22 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

John Dee, president of the LLCC Academy of Lifelong Learning authored “Academy of Lifelong Learning Annual Kickoff Aug. 14 – Join us!” in the ALL August/September/October Senior News. Jennifer Gill, superintendent of schools, Springfield Public School District #186, will be guest speaker at the event. With a theme of “back to school,” attendees are encouraged to bring a school supply to donate to District #186. The event also includes games, a book exchange, desserts and beverages.

Tim Ervin, director, construction and environmental health and safety, was interviewed by WEAI-WLDS radio about the college’s installation of solar panels at LLCC-Litchfield and LLCC-Jacksonville. The solar panels are expected to offset 95 percent of LLCC’s electrical consumption at Litchfield and 75 percent of its electrical consumption at Jacksonville.
